  • Seniors: Age 11 - 13 Years
  • Youth: Age 14 - 17 Years

 Rules & Regulations

  1. Separate competition for each age groups. 
  2. KANE reserves the right to request a copy of birth certificate of the participant for age verification(if required).
  3. Art work must be created on the paper/canvas, using pencil provided by KANE. A Drawing paper and pencil will be provided by KANE. Contestants can bring their own color pencils, crayons, markers, paint brushes and paints to enhance their art work(if they wish to use those).
  4. Art work must be based on a theme/topic. The topic/theme will be given 5 minutes prior to the start time.
  5. Tables and chairs will be provided for the contestants. They are not allowed to copy, refer any other sources including digital media, prints etc. Also it is not allowed to seek help/guidance from anyone. 
  6. The timer starts 5 minutes after the topic/theme is announced. The duration of this competition is 90 Minutes. Five minutes before the end time, a friendly reminder will be given. All the materials should be returned to the Volunteers upon completion.
  7. All the At work/Canvas will have the chest number on it and will be submitted to judges right after the event. 
  8. Art work once submitted will not be returned under any circumstances.
  9. Age of the contestant must be in the range of age groups listed above as of January 1st of current year.
  10. Participant must register online before registration end date and obtain a confirmation number from KANE via e-mail. 
  11. KANE reserves the right to distribute or publish your art work in print, social, visual or any such media post-event.
  12. The Judges' decision will be final.
  13. Violation of any of the above rules may disqualify the contestant.

 

Judging Guidelines

Total Score: 10

  1. Technique (2 Points): the use of media(paper, canvas) and painting tools (execution and technical skills). The contestant chooses and controls media and painting tools effectively to enhance the appearance of the work.
  2. Personal Expression (2 Points): the level of imagination, creativity, and individuality. The expression is unique and the concept presented in a fresh way that is imaginative and inventive.
  3. Organization (2 Points): the use of elements and principals of art, effectively choosing those which enhance the overall appearance of the work.
  4. Integration (2 Points): the work integrates technique, expression, and organization through aesthetic and critical judgment to achieve an effective interpretation.
  5. Overall Aesthetic (2 Points): the synthesis of creative composition and technical expertise. The way elements of design blend together to form a cohesive representation of the artist’s point of view. 

All participants must register before the registration ends. Also it is important to obtain a registration confirmation email back from KANE. Click the "REGISTER NOW" button on the top. Once you register, you will get an auto-reply from KANE. However, we will review your registration and will confirm it by replying back to you via email . This confirmation is mandatory to participate in the event. 

Prizes

Winners are chosen as follows:

  • If only one participant is registered for this event, a participation certificate/award will be given.
  • If more than one participant, then first, second and third prize winners are declared based on scoring and total participants.
  • Prizes, certificates, trophies/medals will be awarded to all the winners on the same/Finale day.
